Buying domain names and websites. Also update on other businesses.

I have recently become more involved with another way to try to grow my business.
I think buying websites that already have a history and are getting traffic can be a very effective way to expand one's online business. I plan on doing more of it. This month I have been very active.

Here are some sites I have bought in the last month:

StadiumFind.com Aerial Views of stadiums.
GoBoating.info Information on boating using Amazon and a DMOZ script.
RapidSearch.org A search tool to help people find files on the hugely popular rapidshare.de
pichub.com A simple web hosting site for photos and videos.
for-my-pet.com A Amazon catalog site that I will add other affiliate programs to.
httparticles.com Good article site that I want to overhual soon. I will probably hire a programmer for this. In fact I have a referrence from Dave Ray.

These are the newest and are in addition to some adsense niche sites I started last month:

health-insured.com From Big Mike of the Warrior forum. His adsense sites are well made. I also like my domain name.
travel-insured.com Another from Big Mike.
I need to promote both of these much more and work on the SEO.
seoiseasy.com From niche Site Special. This one has more backlinks than the prevoius two and should get a decent PR. Kind of sparce looking though. I need to work on it. Good content though. I have a source where I can get hundreds of articles about SEO.

Then besides buying and developing websites I also am interested in buying domain names. After buying them I want to do different things such as resell them, make websites around them or get PPC from a site like seto.com which will create a splash page or landing page for your domain on their server for free and then pay you a percentage of the clicks that you get from traffic. I find this an interesting way to make money and also keep domains as they hopefully go up in value.

Here are some recent purchases of domain names:
allgirls.org
ParisHiltonPic.com
Prankpage.com
Americangirl.cc

I have others that I may post later. I would like to become a buyer/seller in domain names as there is a good opportunity to make both a residual income and an investment income. I never thought about it that way before but after learning of some who are making tens of millions from this I figure I should take a stab at it.

Besides all of this I am also doing well with quite a few of my affiliate programs.

Recently VM Direct has become revitalized with their growth and expansion in Australia and New Zealand. I now have over 100 members in my downline including the famous Tom Hua, who was at one time one of the top, if no the top, affiliate for ClickBank.

I am also doing well with OPFM.

A new company that I was lucky enough to get in with a gret group is
Country Club
Here is a video about the company:
Watch Movie Here

I also am doing well with EN101 and have a group in Hong Kong and China taking off with this. I want to promote it much more in China next year and am talking to someone who speaks Chinese and is interested in helping.
EN101 Online English Courses

My Custom Super Homes downline is close to 1200 now and it looks as though the next year more homes will be built. I was always in a wait and see mode with this company and it appears this next year may be the year to see. I could do very well once a home is built in California.

I also am doing well with Freecardmatrix. I have over 200 people and have a few hundred more that will be added by the company CoOp that I got into. This could be a huge company next year.

My leadersclub business is making a little bit of money now. At least it is in profit. For the first time. It could possible take off in the next year also.

I also am making pretty good money from ClickBank products. I am getting close to $500 a mont. I would like to increase that also in 2006. I didn't really start it until a couple of months ago.

My adsense revenue is up also. Close to $300 already for this month. I applied for the yahoo version of adsense already and also adbrite. I hope to get this stream of income into the thousands per month next year. Buying good websites will help and doing that to drive traffic to my other sites will help also.

My Home-income-team downline continues to grow. Over 3000 now I believe. Free membership but people are always upgrading into various programs.

Also trackthatad is a real winner of a program.

my PIPS site looks better but the revenue isn't coming yet. I need to get a lot more traffic at a reasonable price.

Looking forward to seeing what happens to Googlecashfactor. Can't say much yet except all I am doing with it is waiting.

Some people say what I do is crazy. All these different ways to make money. Too many? Perhaps. I will cut some out in the coming months for sure. The ones that don't produce. But I love doing all these different methods of making money online. Why not? I expect to have a great year in 2006.

Results from press release.

I used this software Press Equalizer
I used this software to do a PR for a new site I bought on Ebay for
$102 http://www.for-my-pet.com
The press release went out on Dec 10th.

The site is pretty bare right now and basically just a Amazon catalog with adsense ads on it. There are thousands of pages and I hope to get them all indexed and with a PR.

I haven't really done much else with this site besides the press release.

I just found out that the PRWeb story is the top spot on yahoo for
the phrase "Christmas gifts for pets" which has 7,640,000 results!

Also #1 for "Christmas gift for dogs" on yahoo out of 8,360,000!
(on page 2 of Google)

Also #1 for "Cat gift for Christmas" out of 12,700,000 results!

I have these link numbers:
google-these are mentions actually: 24
Yahoo-6
Msn-19

Here are the results from PRWeb:
Reads 40,729
estimated pickup 736
prints 14
pdf downloads 64

I know many don't believe in the page rank predictors and of course they can't be all that accurate because Google is hard to predict however I now have a projected PR4 from a couple of these sites.

The only other thing I did was post on a couple of blogs, mine and Mike Filsaime's. Plus I just added a link on a site yesterday.

So overall I am happy with the results of the PR. Of course I would like to see more traffic and I need to optimize the site for that. I also would like to see my actual site in the #1 position instead of the PR but I will take it anyways. #1 out of 12,700,000 isn't bad even if it is temporary.

Getting Press Equalizer is a no brainer.

Google is the Appraiser in the Virtual Real Estate World.

From warrior forum 12-10-05 Only my posts here because I wouldn't want to upset anyone by taking their quotes and putting them on my blog. I thought this was an interesting subject though. Some of the responses were very good. Such as a new .xxx domain coming out soon. Plus a story about a guy who bought a portfolio of domain names from someone else for $164 million!

"A PR7 'domain name only' was for sale on a link/website auction.

So I saw that the minimum bid was $3000 for this PR7 site. I emailed the seller and asked about the history and he just said it still has many great links but the site isn't there anymore. He didn't say much more. It still interested me even if it cost $3000 minimum and didn't have a site anymore.

This is web real estate.

You know who the appraisers of this real estate are? It's Google! Google the web real estate appraisers. There are other appraisers of course, but Google kind of sets the price of this real estate. They are like the Allen Greenspan perhaps of the internet real estate industry.

Some resent that Google has this power. But it is kind of funny really.

Google is the appraiser and we have the land.

This particular piece of land ended up selling for $12,000. I am sure the buyer had some ideas on how to connect the domain with a product and make a site around it. However, the domain isn't that great by itself to have warrented the price.

However the fact that this website was on a piece of expensive property made the sale really. The person was buying the neighborhood.

As long as we look at Google as the appraiser and not the landlord I think we can all be happy.

Tim"

"I find this stuff fascinating. I guess I should get a life.

Thanks for the stories Josh and Dave.

Take a look at this. I took this domain I was mentioning and used a PR prediction site and they came up with this;

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enter the URL below and click submit to find out your future Google PageRank. Note: The URL must match the URL you want to check the PR exactly. So please include the "www" if that is what you want to check.

Results: Your current Google PageRank is 7. Based on our calculations, we predict your future PageRank after the next Google update will be 8, an increase of 13.33%.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So this domain name might go up to a pr8!!! Without any content. It has to be because of the very strong links going to it and it's history.

What I am saying is PR is important. It is money. Value!

It looks like someone bought a possible pr8 site for a great price. As long as they have an idea about how they can take advantage of this they will have a great edge over someone with the same URL and no history, links or PR.

Tim"

"Hey, by the way. Here is the domain name that went for
$12,000. I am not an appraiser of domains but it seems this isn't a great domain. What do you think?

www.mitvcpi.org

Tim"

"I think Google is trying to eliminate the inflated PRs with the latest Jagger update. So this will only make high PRs more valueable in the future.

Tim"

"I know. It's kind of a fun game I think. I am just learning how to bounce the ball and play defense.

Well, I did say Google was "trying" and I am sure someone like your friend will be hard to stop. Having a lot of real estate will give you a big advantage over first time home buyers.

Press Release and new software. Great combination?

Yes, another post here from a post from a forum. Hey,
why not? I am addicted to a good forum.
**********************************************

I wrote a press release this morning for a brand new site
and I already had one of the PR Sites post it! That is a
major advantage right there. This gets your PR out more
quickly than just using PRWeb, which is one of the largest
PR companies. The largest I am pretty sure.

I thought it would be a good test to do it on a completely
new site and see what happens. How long till I am indexed?
How many links will I get? Will it do better than just using
PRWeb?

This my third press release and this one is the closest to
being a story. The other two were more like ads. Those won't
get picked up as much.

Still, even though I thought I did a bad job on my second
press release I still got these results below;

Statistic Count

Reads 64,954 Estimated Pickup 1,082 Prints 14 PDF Downloads
69

Not bad for a badly written press release. So now I can't
wait until I can judge the effect of a much better press
release that also uses this new software. By the way, this
software gives you information to help you write a press
release, but you still have to write it.

The most important thing is to write these press releases
like a story. Then figure out the keywords to select. Put
those keywords into the story and keep it still sounding
like a story.

You have to kind of look at as if you are an editor looking
for stories to fill space. They will pick a well written
article much more often than an ad for a website, product or
company.

I also paid for an upgraded press release from PRWeb for
$80. I recommend that if you can afford it. The benefits are
worth it. However if you can't afford that I still know that
writting press releases can be a very powerful way to get
traffic. You also get:

links, links and maybe nore links, higher page rank,
branding of your name, getting indexed within days,
branding of your product or serice.

e-bay and other auctions.

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later. I rejoined e-bay. Before I never did anything as far as business is concerned. I registered and bought something for my son.

Well, I joined this time to look at a website that I saw advertised on namepros.com

It looked like the perfect site for what I want now. A strong and growing PR6 site that I could use as a backbone of sorts perhaps to build my network of websites. A strong website can help you with other website's PR and traffic.

Here is the site I was interested in: indictionary.com

This site has over 100,000 pages and many of the inner pages are between PR2 and PR5

So I bid 1500 pounds on it. That is about $2500 and I was the only bidder until 2 minutes left. Then I saw that someone outbid me. Damn. So I upped my bid. Then again. Again. Again. Then the auction was over and I lost. The final price was over 3000 pounds or about $5000! I wanted that site. I also would have had the rights to sell the script at a good price.

So anyways, I didn't get it.

I bought a new site afterwards on ebay that is brand new but with tens of thousands pages. I also joined Amazon.com finally just so I can use this site. the site is www.for-my-pet.com

This site will be a good way to get into the pet niche. It is a huge industry and I have some reason to believe I can get some traffic to this site. I have some ideas already. I want to get inner pages with high PRs from this site and also make some sales.

Trying to get traffic and create an income!

That is the constant struggle for me and for most people in internet marketing.

How do I create enough traffic to create an income that is what I want?

Well, I haven't totally figured it out but I am working on it.

Some people were not impressed with the pixel sites. They just don't think they were going to be around long. They may be right, but what I do know is that you can get some prettty good traffic from them.

Here is my latest venture in advertisng on a pixel site. By the way, I wasn't intending to do any more advertising on these sites even though I had some good results. However, I saw this one and thought I would try a few spots. Here it is;

You will see three ads at the top that are mine;
1. goes to work at home directory
2. goes to our power forced matrix
3. goes to freecardmatrix

These only cost me $2.70, $7.90 and $8.20 and not in that order. These links will be there until I take them down, or someone bids a higher price. If they bid a higher price then I get my money back. That is free advertising and I know it will get traffic because the site gets over 5000 visitors a day now!!

So you don't have to look too hard, the two flashing "hot" suns are mine at the top. Also the flashing "free" at the top is mine also.

Just one way to get some traffic. Yes, it is gimickry, but I am also trying the more studious ways such as adwoords and SEO techniques.
