June 5 Will Be the Launch of HolyCowDude.com

OK, that is the name of our new search engine. Funny name, and something easily remembered. I came up with it and the basic idea and Vladimir has taken and ran with it. The logo looks great I think. Take a look:
HolyCowDude.com Haha.

We already have a couple spiders on the loose crawling into other people's websites. One is called the HolyCowBot, or the Cow Spider as I like to call it.

One of the reasons we decided to do this was because I was looking for a way to monetize Pingoat.com. It gets great traffic but doesn't make much money and I was trying to increase my ROI or return on investment. Pingoat wasn't cheap.

So basically the idea came to try to do something like Technorati and Feedster, two sites that Pingoat pings. But do something different than them also. We have a great advantage over others who may try to do the same thing. We already have the second largest ping site and also the newest ping site, ipings.com, so we could just add HolyCowDude as a ping site.

What we will do with HolyCowDude will be interesting. Stay tuned and see what happens in the next 6 months or so. :-)

In the meantime, Vladimir created a new product which is really cool. It has to do with receiving text messages when you make sales and also it is a download protector. This combination is definately a one of a kind product. It isn't ready yet but I will mention the name here: SellerElite.com We will hopefully have a Warrior Special Offer for this in a day or two.

The other big project we have been working on is on hold for now as Vladimir worked on these new ones. It's OK, we wanted to make sure we do everything right for it. It has to do with advertising and there are many things we need to work out still.

Oh, one more thing. There is a new ebook called Tag and Ping It's right up my alley because of pingoat, ipings and holycowdude. But anyone who uses blogs or wants to get high rankings, high PR backlinks and more traffic will find it useful. It is explained very well.

Holy Cow Dude! This will be big!

OK, I can't say too much more about this for now but Vladimir and I have two projects coming up that promise to be our biggest yet. We have one almost done and the other is just getting going. These are both way more ambitious than anything we have done before. Stay tuned. :-)

On another note, this has been a very interesting week. We had some problems with Pingoat this week. These problems were mostly caused by too much traffic using the offsite RPC system we have. This and the new increased traffic we had onsite which was the result of good SEO work and problems with our main competitor which was down because of simular reasons.

What we first decided to do was to eliminate the RPC altogether. This is something we had talked about for a couple months. Well, I say eliminate but that is unclear. We may bring it back in some other form. Anyways, when we stopped the off site pinging, that still used our servers, the users came to pingoat and pinged onsite.

What happened then was hundreds of people became blacklisted, meaning they couldn't use pingaot because the spam filters determined the blog was spam. The thing we didn't realize was how much more strict the filters were when pinging on site. These were people who had been using the service and weren't considered spam. So it was surprising for both us and the users. The users were not happy either. :-(

So what happened was the blacklisted users were told to go to the goat forum and get whitelisted so they could use pingoat again.

The reason for the spam filters is to try to stop auto blogging software from using pingoat. Or bots. So Vladimir came up with a solution: when someone is blacklisted, instead of having to go to the forum to get whitelisted, which can take time, the user could immediately whitelist themselves by using an image verification system. Smart. I said OK, lets do it. And it was done fairly quickly and for the most part people were very understanding (Thanks to a good post by Vladimir in the goatlog)

Ipings.com continues to grow and it will be involved in one of our new sites.

RSS Feeds Ping Site Released

Here is a new site. I am real proud of what my friend Vladimir and I put together. This site is the newest RSS Feeds directory, resource site, ping site, etc...around. In fact there isn't another one around quite like it. If you are interested in rss feeds, blog and ping and just the internet in general take a look at and become a free member of IPings.com
