About Time I post Again. Well I have been ...
...busy the last couple of months since my last post. Sorry for that to anyone who checks in here once in a while. I guess I have a few who do as here is what I saw today at
Blogsrater.com
So in response to those critiques I intent to start posting at a more frequent and consistant pace.
I have a lot to post about that's for sure.
Lets see, what should I start with? How about the growth of a nice income stream that I wasn't sure of at the time of my last post?
1. Making money with test-link-ads.com has turned into a nice paycheck every month. The affiliate program is something I want to do more of in the future also.
What I like about this source of income is that it is compatible with contexual ads like adsense or YPN. Also, the convienance factor is nice. All you need to do is submit the site, cut and paste the code onto your site and once your site is approved you just let TLA do the rest. They find the customers who will pay for text links on your site. Simple. You do need the site to be a PR4 or above to be considered. These links have earned me a 4 figure a month income for three months now.
2. Getting into the social networking side of internet marketing. I recently aquiered an Indian niche community called Mallu5.com that has 14,000 members. This site is a challenge because we needed to transfer the whole site and database over to a new script. This was/is ( Oct 9th and 10th) a lot of work for my partner Vladimir Ghetau but should really improve the members enjoyment of the site.
The site was having issues with security. Apparently some members were able to sign in with the same username as other members. Plus the script had other security problems. So instead of rewriting the script which would have taken many days, we decided to take the top social networking script PHPFOX and transfer the database from Mallu5 to it. This is not easy as we had to buy a script to change it from HTML to Linux.
Another site that we started recently and has been a main focus for us is TattooHood.com which is a tattoo Community in the style of myspace. It also uses the PHPFOX script. This site has gotten off to a pretty good start and we are going to make sure it gets going even more. These sites are viral and that is what we are trying to make sure happens. I think you need to create that viral effect. It just doesn't happen on accindent I think. Well, usually.
3. I also sold Pingoat since I last posted. It was an interesting sale.
Pingoat is a pretty well known site among internet marketers who blog. If people don't use it for their IM blogs, they at least know about. Besides that there are thousands of natural one way links back to pingoat and some are really significant. For example a link from the Google site!
Anyways, I sold it. First I put it up for sale at sitepoint and then after getting a quick offer within the first few hours of the sale I posted at the warrior forum about the sale. The thread got very interesting after John Reese posted in big red letters "SOLD" and proceeded to buy Pingoat for a nice sum.
4. Then I sold another site, PureAct.com, for a amount that was more than 6 times whatI paid for it. We had increased the traffic and had tens of thousands of pages indexed by Google.
5. I came up with an idea for a new site. We are working on this site now. It is called Buy-Alert.com and will be away for marketers to buy websites and let us find the good deals. We will recommend sites and I have an idea where we will actually offer a paid warranty on the site you buy that was recomended by us.
The site isn't ready yet, but is almost. Right now you can go to Buy-Alert and get on our pre-launch list so you will be alerted of the launch or any updates.
6. We started ThyPoll.com which allows you to make a poll and put it on your site for free.
7. Vladimir came up with a way to change PicHub.com into a more viral type site. It is now a site that lets you save photos and send them from pichub to your friends, family and others. You can also add music and a scolled message to your photos when you send them. Here is an example of one that I posted at the warrior forum:
Climbing Yosemite E-Card
8. Vladimir moved back to his home country Romania. This is an important step for both of us as it should help us grow more in the future. There seems to be a lot of talented young programmers in Romania and we will be building up a crew of them soon. We actually have one that has created a script for us already. Plus, we think we can use the English major college students there to create article and newsletter content. Our new site to sell these services once it is done is nicheghost.com. Great name Vladimir! :-)
9. We put an "one time offer" on PostYourAdForFree.com and started testing it.
10. I kept working with members of my Success University Co-Op group. This has been a bit of a disappointment except for a small group of members who actually have used my ideas. One who did well was Sarju Pabari who made this blog here about Success University. By using the free blog, submitting the articles I supplied ( unique, not PLR ), adding his own postings to the blog, adding links and changing the appearance of the blog he has recieved a PR5 from Google!! So he has been able to monetise his site in new ways. ( See #1 above )
I still want to keep going with this small group. Right now, I am trying to come up with other ways to help these members.
11. We are working on two continuing projects that are close to being done:
a. NewsNLetters.com
b. SellerElite.com
Plus we have several other projects in the works. We are trying to get help to get these out. One is for an advertising alternative. One where the buyer of our product will be able to get 100% of the advertising for text links.
OK, I will add some other updates soon. This was just a part of what we have done since the last post here.
